Football Expert Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
