The British government is prepared to move forward with using the total value of seized Russian assets to support the Ukrainian war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be executed in close cooperation with the United States.

United Kingdom restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's resources since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, resources allocated to Ukraine using Russian assets had solely been taken from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to push forward toward utilizing the complete amount of the seized Moscow's national holdings to end the war.

He added that more measures in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on Russia.

This declaration comes after European Union officials gathered in the Danish capital last week to discuss employing immobilized Russian funds for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, American leader Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or employ frozen Russian funds, as reported by reports.

The total of seized Russia's funds in the Europe is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

Russia launched large-scale missile and drone strikes all over Ukraine on recently, causing power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

In a update on social media subsequent to the attack, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure.

"The necessity is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the America, Europe, and the seven nations - in providing air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky informed reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the Purl program, under which alliance members acquire weapons from the America to give to Ukraine.

While applauding the Britain's firm backing for Kyiv, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce additional measures on Russia.
